Ruth Bright, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate

Ruth Bright is a veteran of four successful General election campaigns for the Liberal Democrats in Southwark and Bermondsey - part of the team that worked to achieve victory for Simon Hughes in 1987, 1992, 1997 and 2001. As Deputy Leader of the council group Ruth worked full-time on the successful campaign to take control of Southwark Council this May, defeating Labour and Tories after 40 years.

Ruth has extensive media experience - most recently appearing on BBC News to highlight Liberal Democrat gains in this May's local elections.

Ruth also has a life outside politics! As a Project Manager for Age Concern in Brixton she built up a thriving advice service for the carers of people with Alzheimer's.
